REKKN creates a public record. But sometimes you need more than visibility. These are the official channels for escalating a dispute beyond the public record.

Your REKKN report and its evidence can support any of these filings.

Better Business Bureau (BBB)

File a formal complaint with the BBB. Businesses with BBB accreditation are expected to respond. BBB complaints create an additional public record.

When to use: The business is BBB-accredited or operates in a regulated industry.

State Attorney General

Every state has a consumer protection division. File a complaint with your state AG for deceptive practices, fraud, or consumer rights violations.

When to use: You suspect fraud, deceptive advertising, or violations of consumer protection laws.

Federal Trade Commission (FTC)

The FTC collects reports about scams, fraud, and unfair business practices. While they don't resolve individual cases, pattern data triggers investigations.

When to use: The issue involves fraud, scams, identity theft, or widespread deceptive practices.

Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB)

For financial products and services: credit cards, loans, mortgages, debt collection, credit reporting.

When to use: The dispute involves a financial product, billing practice, or debt collection.

Small Claims Court

For disputes under your state's small claims limit (typically $5,000-$10,000). No lawyer needed. File in person or online in most jurisdictions.

When to use: You have a specific dollar amount in dispute and the business refuses to resolve it.

Credit Card Chargeback

If you paid by credit card, you may be able to dispute the charge directly with your card issuer. Most issuers have a 60-120 day window.

When to use: You paid by credit card and the merchant won't refund, delivered a defective product, or didn't deliver at all.
